Driver injured in suspected DUI crash in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE — Police Monday reported that a driver was charged with driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed into a tree on Scott Street.

Officers responding to the crash at 2:23 a.m. said the injured driver, Daniel Blacer, 24, of Wilkes-Barre appeared to be intoxicated. Due to the severity of the injury, Blacer was taken to a local hospital where he refused to submit to a blood test, police said.

Police said charges were filed against Blacer and PennDOT will be notified of his refusal to submit to the blood test.
