WILKES-BARRE — A man from Scranton was arraigned Tuesday in Luzerne County Central Court on charges he passed multiple bad checks to purchase machines and equipment from three businesses.

Anthony Fazio, 40, of Linden Street, is facing counts of bad checks and theft. He was released on his own recognizance.

According to the criminal complaints:

Fazio wrote three checks totaling $942 to purchase a saw, a generator and a power washer at Driscoll’s Home Center in West Pittston on Oct. 2 and Oct. 3.

At Fastenal in Hazleton, Fazio wrote a check for $850 to purchase a hammer-impact combo kit, a drill-impact driver kit and a saw Oct. 23, then issued a check for $179 to purchase a work-site radio and a knife Oct. 24.

A few days later on Oct. 28, Fazio wrote a check for $499 at Lindsey Equipment in Ashley to purchase a pressure washer.
