ASHLEY — Police investigating a man attempting to enter a Ridge Street residence said he was found with methamphetamine.

Dale E. Harris, 38, of Alberdeen Road, Mountain Top, was stopped by an officer on the back porch of a relative’s house at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday. The relative told police he feared Harris, who was not invited inside.

Police alleged methamphetamine was found in packaged bags inside a laptop bag Harris was carrying, according to the criminal complaint.

A vial containing an unknown substance and brass knuckles were allegedly found in Harris’ pockets.

Harris claimed the unknown substance was cocaine, the complaint says.

Harris was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and prohibited offensive weapons. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail after he was arraigned on Monday.
