WRIGHT TWP. — The Crestwood school board this week used its account with the Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust to cover $50,000 in expenses, the largest of which was $34,255 to IntegraONE for HP Chromebook computers.

Superintendent Joseph Gorham described the laptop purchases as part of an ongoing effort to supply every Crestwood student with a computer. At present, the computers are being utilized by high school students.

The investment trust is designed to meet the investment needs of local governments and school districts.

Other PLGIT expenditures involved the board’s continuing efforts with regard to school security, including a $11,692 payment to Tri-State Window Tinting for work at Fairview Elementary and $4,995 to Mesko Glass for the replacement of safety glass and door hardware at Rice Elementary.

The board also approved a trip by the Crestwood High School Band to Walt Disney World, Orlando, Fla., on April 11-16, 2019. It was stated the excursion will be at no expense to the district. The band is scheduled to perform at the Magic Kingdom.

• Approved the retirement proposal of Rose Sturgeon, full-time learning support aide at Fairview, effective June 30, 2019.
