WHITE HAVEN - A man was arraigned by police Wednesday morning on charges he robbed a video rental store with a knife.
Thomas A. Ward, 25, of Towanda Street, White Haven, was charged with two counts of robbery. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.
Police allege Ward entered Video Mania on Main Street at about 7:55 p.m. Tuesday and threatened a clerk with a knife. Ward fled the store and was allegedly seen entering a nearby apartment where police recovered the money, according to the criminal complaint.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Dec. 16 before District Judge Gerald Feissner in Freeland.
