Athletic director charged with providing booze

EAST STROUDSBURG – The recently fired athletic director of a Roman Catholic high school in Northeastern Pennsylvania is charged with supplying underage girls with alcohol at a sleepover in the school gym.

Thirty-nine-year-old Anthony Creece of Stroudsburg faces charges of corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors.

Police say six girls planned a camp-out at Notre Dame High School in East Stroudsburg on Aug. 29.

But because of bad weather, the group was allowed to stay overnight in the school.

Authorities say Creece brought vodka to the school then went home, leaving the girls unsupervised at the gym. The girls were from 14 to 17 years old.

A Scranton Diocese spokesman confirmed that Creece had been fired, but did not state the reason.
