Dallas board reorganizes, mulls use of former school

Dr. Bruce M. Goeringer was selected as president and Russell Bigus as vice president. Charlie Preece was welcomed as a new school board member, while Karen Z. Kyle, Dr. Richard G. Coslett and Maureen Matiska were approved for a second four-year term.
Cathy Wega was unanimously voted to replace Richard Orlowski for a two-year term as representative for the West Side Career and Technology Center. Gary Mathers was nominated for a three-year term.

Preece was chosen as board secretary. Goeringer and Matiska were approved as representatives to the Back Mountain Library Board. Kyle and Preece were nominated and accepted as representatives to the Parent Advisory Council.

In an effort to determine the structural integrity of the 85-year-old Dallas Township School building, the board heard presentations from engineers from Buchart, Horn Basco Associates of York, Joseph B. Callaghan Inc. of Philadelphia and Barry Isett and Associates of Hazleton.
