EPA holding local forum to preserve Chesapeake

The federal Environmental Protection Agency will hold a series of meetings in communities throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed to discuss a new initiative to reduce the amount of pollution in the bay and its tributaries, including the Susquehanna River.

A meeting has been scheduled in Luzerne County for 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 17 and in Williamsport from 5 to 7 p.m. the next day. The local meeting will be at Bentley’s on Route 309 in Ashley, and the Williamsport meeting will be at Genetti’s on Fourth Street.
