SALEM TWP. - An employee at Legett and Platt on Salem Boulevard was charged by township police on Wednesday for allegedly threatening a supervisor.
Tanner Paden Mensinger, 19, of Beach Haven, was charged with terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, possessing instruments of crime and disorderly conduct. He is jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
Mensinger got into an argument with supervisor David Hartman Tuesday night. Hartman told Menisinger to return to his work station, but Mensinger threatened Hartman.
Mensinger left the building telling co-workers, "I'll be back in 10 minutes and kill everyone, the criminal complaint says.
Hartman advised employees to lock the doors, and positioned an employee at the front door. Mensinger returned to the building and entered through an unlocked door carrying a crow bar.
A co-worker distracted Mensinger asking him, "Let's go outside for a smoke and talke about this," in which, Mensinger replied, "I'm going to get him," the criminal complaint says.
As Mensinger rounded a corner, a co-worker tackled Mensinger and detained him until police took him into custody.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on May 7 in Central Court.
