Former Hewlett-Packard chief executive officer Carly Fiorina will be in Northeastern Pennsylvania Monday to stump for presumptive Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain.
Fiorina is expected to attend a public reception from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Ramada Inn, 820 Northern Boulevard, Clarks Summit, according to the McCain campaign staff.
Fiorina was named one of the 30 most powerful women in the U.S. She earned a bachelor’s degree in both philosophy and medieval history from Stanford, a master’s in business administration in marketing from the University of Maryland and a master’s in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Meanwhile, the Barack Obama campaign is holding an event today in Pittston. “Harleys for Obama” will be revving their engines to coincide with the Obama campaign’s new radio ad that highlights McCain’s opposition to “buy American” provisions requiring investment in American companies such as Harley-Davidson.
The “Harleys for Obama” event is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the UFCW Local 1776 office, 2007 Highway 315, Pittston Township. Tony Thomas, Jr., vice chairman of the Wilkes-Barre City Council, is the featured speaker.
