Exeter Township man hit with more charges in pursuit

SWOYERSVILLE - An Exeter Township man who allegedly led police on a vehicle pursuit on both sides of the Susquehanna River last week is facing more charges.

State police at Wyoming filed aggravated assault and related offenses against David Joseph Yanchausky, 40, with District Judge David Barilla in Swoyersville.

Yanchausky had been charged in connection to stealing a vehicle in West Pittston he used in the pursuit that ended in a crash at North Washington and East Linden streets, Wilkes-Barre, on June 9.

The latest charges involved injuries a Wilkes-Barre police officer sustained during the pursuit.
