Taxpayers, support staff and concerned children’s advocates joined the lineup at the high school auditorium to question district officials.
The school serves 124 children and employs 10 teachers and 12 support staff. Closing the school would require the students to be reassigned to the Huntington Mills and Hunlock Creek elementary schools.
Amy Acrie, a parent whose children attended Garrison, said the board’s decision to close it is a “done deal” despite the claim from district business manager Al Melone and solicitor Richard Galtman nothing has been decided.
“I truly believe the decision is made,” Acrie said. She added the board members are not making any effort to keep it open.
