Hackett won’t speak tonight

All speeches at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., have been canceled for this evening, according to Mark Harris, campaign manager for Chris Hackett.

Hackett, who is vying to unseat Democratic incumbent Chris Carney in the 10th Congressional District race, traveled to St. Paul on Sunday and was expected to speak about Sen. John McCain’s candidacy for president. Harris said official business will still be conducted to open the convention.

The congressional candidate was expected to stay at the convention until Tuesday, but will wait to see if today’s speeches are rescheduled before he returns home, according to Harris.
