Hunlock Twp. woman dies as result of crash

STILLWATER – State police at Bloomsburg said a Hunlock Township woman died as a result of a two-vehicle crash at state Route 487 and Zaner’s Bridge Road on Wednesday.

Police identified the woman as Elizabeth Hildebrand.

Hildebrand, 19, driving a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, was stopped on Zaner’s Bridge Road and pulled into the path of a 1992 Ford truck, driven by John Watson, 45, of Benton, who was northbound on Route 487, police said.

Hildebrand was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbia County Deputy Coroner Ron Taylor.

Watson wasn’t injured in the crash. A passenger in his truck, Howard Bowman, suffered minor injuries, police said.
