WILKES-BARRE – A Philadelphia man wanted on heroin trafficking charges was arrested at Martz bus station in Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday night.
Jaladel C. Fishley, also known as “L,” allegedly sold a large quantity of the drug last Friday to undercover detectives near a Wyoming Valley West elementary school in Kingston, police said. The heroin had a street value of approximately $3,000.
Fishley, 24, was arrested on a felony trafficking warrant as he was getting off a bus coming back from Philadelphia.
Kingston police allege that during the arrest, Fishley, who also listed an address on Carlisle Street, Wilkes-Barre, was in possession of $5,622 cash, which included a quantity of police money from the drug purchase last Friday, and a cell phone he used to make his drug sales.
A search of Fishley’s residence in Wilkes-Barre produced an additional 80 bags of heroin and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, police said. Charges are pending from the search.
Fishley was charged with delivery of heroin, possession with intent to deliver the drug, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show.
He was arraigned Wednesday morning before District Judge Martin Kane, Wilkes-Barre, and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 cash bail. Fishley faces a two-year mandatory prison sentence for selling heroin near a school and the weight of the drug.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 2.
Fishley was also jailed on a probation violation for aggravated assault, police said.
Fishley was out of jail on bail for felony heroin trafficking charges by Nanticoke police.
He is also awaiting trial on drug charges stemming from a suspicious vehicle incident in April, according to court records.
