BUTLER TWP. – Township police said they arrested a man who they say was intoxicated and endangered two children during a disturbance on Tracey Lane on Thursday night.
Kevin Beauregard, 34, of Tracey Lane, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children, disorderly conduct, and one count of resisting arrest, criminal mischief and public drunkenness. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
Police responded to Tracey Lane at about 11:20 p.m. for a group of intoxicated people in the roadway causing a disturbance.
Beauregard was found holding a beer and staggering near two girls, the criminal complaint says. Police said Beauregard began yelling obscenities at officers. He placed the girls between himself and an officer, who was prevented from using his taser on Beauregard, the criminal complaint says.
Another person removed the girls from the road. When the officer aimed the taser gun at Beauregard, he was taken in custody without further incident, police said.
Beauregard was taken to the Butler Township Police Department, where he damaged Plexiglas inside a cell, police said.
