WILKES-BARRE – A man was stabbed in the chest while he was walking on railroad tracks behind a Curry Donut shop early Sunday morning.
Police said David Halal, 53, of Wilkes-Barre, went to the doughnut shop, located at 178 S. Pennsylvania Ave., for help after he was stabbed at about 2:30 a.m. by an unknown person.
Halal could not provide police with any additional information at the scene because of the seriousness of his injury, police said.
Halal was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for treatment and was listed in serious condition, police said.
An operator at Geisinger said Halal was not listed in the patient directory early Sunday evening.
Anyone with information on the stabbing should call police at 826-8106.
