Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain of Arizona will make a campaign stop in Wilkes-Barre on July 23.
Dan Meuser, president of Pride Mobility, said he has been asked to serve as chairman of the event – a luncheon at a site to be determined in Wilkes-Barre.
“We will announce the site within the next couple of days,” Meuser said. “The McCain campaign has informed me that the senator will make another appearance in the Wilkes-Barre area the same day.”
McCain is opposed by Democrat Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in the November general election.
Meuser ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for Congress in the 10th District, losing a close race to Chris Hackett.
