KINGSTON – The Citizens Advisory Commission will meet on these dates: Jan. 12, Feb. 9, March 9, April 13, May 11, June 8, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14. There are no meetings scheduled for July and August. Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 500 Wyoming Ave.

HAZLETON – A leader in the city’s Latino community who was among the most vocal critics of a controversial immigration law, has been reappointed to the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs.

Dr. Agapito Lopez was one of 17 Pennsylvanians appointed to the board on Monday. He was one of 11 reappointments.

The commission is the state’s advocacy agency for its Latino residents.

HAZLETON -- The office of state Rep. Todd Eachus, 100 W. Broad St., will be closed today and will resume normal hours of operation, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Wednesday.
