La PLUME – Four area schools have made the 2010 list of Military Friendly Schools, published by G.I. Jobs Magazine.
Keystone College, Johnson Technical Institute, Lackawanna College and The University of Scranton were recognized for doing the most to recruit and retain students with military experience.
“Since its founding in 1868 just after the Civil War, Keystone College has been especially attentive to providing a quality education to those men and women who have served our nation so admirably,” said Ned Boehm, Keystone’s president. “That’s why we are especially honored to be named to this exclusive list of military friendly schools compiled by G.I. Jobs Magazine.”
“This list is especially important now because the recently enacted Post-9/11 GI Bill has given veterans virtually unlimited financial means to go to school,” said Rich McCormack, G.I. Jobs publisher.
“Veterans can now enroll in any school, provided they’re academically qualified, so schools are clamoring for them like never before.
“Veterans need a trusted friend to help them decide where to get educated,” he added.
