SHICKSHINNY – Council reappointed Gilbert Gleco, after his term expired, to the Shickshinny Sewer Authority at Tuesday’s first council meeting of the new year.

Council also accepted Donald Cavellini’s resignation from the authority. His letter to council said the resignation was due to ill health.

Council hopes to fill the empty position on the sewer authority next month.

Gary Moore, the alternate on the Zoning Hearing Board, was appointed as a full member after Gleco’s term on that board expired at the end of the year.

Gleco’s term also expired on the Planning and Mitigation Commission and council appointed Moore to fill the vacancy.

Council ran short of volunteers for the UCC Hearing Board after reappointing John Boyer, whose term expired. There is still one empty seat and two alternates open.

In other business, council approved a wage list addendum giving the police a raise to an average rate of $11 per hour. Council member Jule Moore said it was to keep the department competitive with others in the area.
