LUZERNE COUNTY -- Plans were recently finalized for a Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday.
The Luzerne County Sobriety Checkpoint Program, administered through the Luzerne County Probation Services with funding provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, will conduct the checkpoint, which will be on Friday in Nescopeck Borough.
The operations by the Nescopeck Police Department will be dependent on the weather.
Police officers running the checkpoint will be out in force to enhance public safety and advise drivers of the dangers of drinking and driving.
The Roving Patrol/Sobriety Checkpoint program is designed as a reminder that the impaired driver puts lives in jeopardy.
For more information, contact Peter J. Quinn, who serves as Checkpoint Program Coordinator at Luzerne County Probation Services, 570-830-5136.
