KINGSTON -- The Friends of the Hoyt Library Barnes & Noble Book Fair will take place today through Thursday at Barnes & Noble, 421 Arena Hub Plaza, Wilkes-Barre Township.

Storytime is at 10 a.m. today and 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Face-painting is from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Proceeds benefit the library.

NANTICOKE -- A summer lunch program is under way at the Pope John Paul II Education Center Cafeteria, 518 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. This free program is available to people ages 18 and younger. Serving is from noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

LAFLIN – The borough police department will have an officer on duty from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the police station to respond to citizens’ needs.
