PLYMOUTH – The seventh annual Kielbasa Festival crowned a new winner in the smoked division during the Kielbasa Contest held Saturday at Franchella’s Pub on Main Street.

The festival is hosted by Plymouth Alive, a non-profit organization working to revitalize the borough’s downtown area.

Here are the winners of the Kielbasa Contest:

In the fresh division: first place, Bosak’s Choice Meats, Olyphant; second place, Fetch’s Food Store, Plymouth; and third place, Plains Meat Market, Plains Township. In the smoked division: first place, Bosak’s Choice Meats; second place, Komensky’s Market, Duryea; and in third place there was three-way tie among Park Market, Nanticoke, Plains Meat Market and Fetch’s.

Plymouth Alive President Terry Womelsdorf said 18 judges cast their ballots on seven food store entries in both divisions.

The judges included local celebrities, two borough officials and radio and newspaper personalities.
