In an e-mail message sent to the Times Leader, campaign officials for Barack Obama have confirmed his visit to Duryea tomorrow.
Text of the e-mail message is as follows:
Barack Obama Returning to Pennsylvania
Sen. Obama will speak at Schott Glass in Duryea tomorrow
PHILADELPHIA - Sen. Barack Obama will continue his return to Pennsylvania tomorrow with a visit to
Wilkes-Barre.
The day after John McCain accepts the Republican nomination and gives his speech promising more of the same, Barack Obama will speak at Schott Glass in Duryea.
He will outline his plans jumpstart our economy, provide middle class tax relief and get America moving in the right direction again.
6:47 p.m.Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee for president of the United States, will visit Schott Glass in Duryea Friday, sources said.
Obama is expected to arrive at the plant around noon to tour the facility and speak to employees.
The Obama campaign visited several area businesses this week to determine at which site the candidate would appear. Sources said Offset Paperback, Dallas, A. Rifkin Co.,
Hanover Township, and Pepperjam, Wilkes-Barre, were considered, but Schott was selected.
Obama campaigned in York and Lancaster Thursday. Obama's running mate,
Scranton native Sen
Joe Biden, D-Del., will be in Pennsylvania Friday. He is scheduled to speak in Langhorne.
Obama and Biden are opposed by Republican Sen. John McCain and his running mate Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska.
McCain delivered his acceptance speech Thursday night at the Republican National Convention in Minneaplois-St.Paul.
