Pioneers won't field team, closing office

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers will not field a team for the 2010 season and negotiations to sell the team have fallen through, the team said in a note posted Monday on its Web site.

The note said the process of closing the team's offices will begin this week and promised that all season ticket deposits will be returned in full.
