SWOYERSVILLE - A Pittston police sergeant accused of taking sexually explicit pictures of an unconscious woman waived his right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge David Barilla on Thursday.
Robert Joseph Semyon, 46, of Wyoming, waived three counts of aggravated indecent assault, and one count each of invasion of privacy and obscene pictures to Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas.
Investigators with the state Office of Attorney General allege in arrest records that Semyon took pictures of himself performing lewd sexual acts on a woman who was unconscious on a couch inside an office at the Wyoming Valley Airport in Forty Fort on Sept. 12.
Forty-six explicit photos were found on a police department's laptop computer, arrest records say.
The woman told investigators she was unaware the photos were taken.
Semyon and his attorney, Frank Nocito, declined comment after the brief appearance before Barilla.
Semyon was suspended without pay on Oct. 1. He has been with the Pittston Police Department for 16 years.
