KINGSTON TWP. – One day after being charged with a home burglary in Plymouth, two people were accused of stealing firearms, DVDs and several watches from a Harveys Lake home last Friday. Michael Mrozoski, 34, of Franklin Street, Plymouth, and Erin Davis, 34, of Rutter Avenue, Kingston, were arraigned Tuesday on the charges filed by Harveys Lake police two days after Plymouth police captured the pair allegedly taking collectible coins from an unoccupied home on Orchard Street, Plymouth, on Sunday.
Police in both municipalities said Mrozoski and Davis wore blue rubber gloves during the burglaries. A box of latex gloves was found inside their vehicle on Sunday, according to arrest records.
Mrozoski and Davis were arraigned by District Judge James Tupper in Kingston Township on eight counts of theft, and one count each of burglary and criminal trespass filed by Harveys Lake police.
The pair were charged Monday by Plymouth police with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal conspiracy. Mrozoski was also charged with theft, and Davis was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mrozoski and Davis are jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $35,000 bail each.
According to the latest criminal complaints by Harveys Lake police:
A homeowner reported on Friday that three shotguns, two rifles, a handgun, 55 DVDs and several watches were stolen during a burglary at his residence.
After they were captured by Plymouth police on Sunday, Mrozoski and Davis told Harveys Lake police that they stole the items because they needed money to buy drugs, according to the criminal complaints.
Mrozoski said that after stealing the firearms, he stopped for gasoline at a service station in Dallas where a man inquired about the rifles that were in the bed of his pickup truck.
Mrozoski claimed he sold one of the rifle’s to the man for $80, the criminal complaints say.
Davis told police, according to the criminal complaint, that they sold the remaining firearms to a gun dealer in Plymouth for $400 and the DVDs at a Wilkes-Barre pawn shop for $40.
Davis claimed she wore the rubber gloves when she entered the homes in Plymouth and Harveys Lake, and let Mrozoski inside after opening a side door, the complaints say.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled on June 30 in Central Court.
