Public will help 2 counties plan

The public is invited to participate in the next phase of a comprehensive plan impacting development and conservation in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.

Three information sessions will be held this week in Scranton, Hazleton and Nanticoke to offer residents, businesses and interested parties the opportunity to comment on a draft of the land use component of the plan.

For the past two years, the counties have been working with consultant McCormick Taylor Inc. of Philadelphia on the $1.12 million project that deals with development, transportation and hazard mitigation. Public input was sought this summer on a preliminary draft of the land use plan.
