Shickshinny woman killed in crash

SALEM TWP. - A Shickshinny woman was killed in a two vehicle head-on crash on Salem Boulevard (state Route 11) Monday morning, township police said.

Police identified the woman who died as 63-year old Rosemary Kline.

Police said Kline, driving a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am, was traveling north on Salem Boulevard and collided head-on with a 2002 Toyota pickup truck, driven by Edward Damico, 53, of Wyoming, who was traveling south.

Police said Kline was pronounced dead at the scene by Luzerne County Deputy Coroner Daniel Hinchcliff.

Damico was transported to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for injuries, police said.

Police said the roadway was closed for nearly six hours as state police assisted township police in the investigation.
