WILKES-BARRE – Police said a Sweet Valley woman entered a Scott Street residence uninvited and went onto a roof topless early Wednesday morning.
Amy Marie Sims, 28, of Crimson Road, allegedly spat saliva that struck an officer after she was found hiding behind a mattress in the residence at 269 Scott St. just before 1:30 a.m., police said.
Police filed charges of assault by prisoner, aggravated harassment by prisoner, criminal trespass, public drunkenness and three counts of disorderly conduct against Sims with District Judge Martin Kane in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the criminal complaint:
Police responded to the residence for a 911 hang-up call at about 1:20 a.m. Attempts to contact anyone inside were unsuccessful. As police were leaving, a second 911call was placed from a different apartment reporting that a topless woman was on the roof at the residence.
Police looked up and saw a topless woman, identified as Sims, lying on her stomach. She then got up and opened a window to enter the residence.
Police climbed onto the roof and followed Sims inside, where she was found hiding behind a mattress. She yelled and cursed at police, claiming she had been drinking.
Police detained Sims and removed her from the residence. She continued to yell and curse at police and attempted to kick out a window in a cruiser. Police allege Sims spat saliva that struck an officer.
Donald Morningstar, the tenant of the residence, told police that he didn’t know Sims and didn’t know why she was in his residence.
