NANTICOKE – Sparks from a torch are believed to have started a fire at a service station on West Broad Street late Friday morning, Fire Chief Mike Bohan said.
Bohan said firefighters responded to Bill’s Auto, 71 W. Broad St., at about 11:30 a.m.
Owner Bill White told firefighters that he was using a torch to remove bolts on a vehicle when sparks ignited materials in the garage, Bohan said.
Bohan said the garage was damaged by the flames. No injuries were reported.
