Trucking company to lay off over 50 employees

WRIGHT TWP. – The trucking company serving a Mountain Top distribution center set to close next year will lay off 53 people.

Cardinal Logistics Management Corp. is the second operator in the Crestwood Industrial Park to announce job cuts this week. The layoffs will be permanent and occur between Feb. 12 and April 15.

Office Depot said it will lay off 108 people in February.

Cardinal and Office Depot shared the same address on Elmwood Road in the industrial park.

The “unexpected termination” of a major business contract caused a “substantial reduction in business,” according to a notice Cardinal sent to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry last week.
