Visual barrier mandated for sex offender

Man on house arrest to have barrier put up to block view of nearby yard.

WILKES-BARRE – A man sentenced to house arrest on child pornography charges is required to install some type of barrier that obstructs the view of his neighbor’s yard.

Luzerne County Judge Hugh Mundy on Friday ordered the unusual condition for Kerry Makalusky, 39, of Orchard Street, Exeter, after Assistant District Attorney Alexis Favello said a 10-year-old girl resides next to Makalusky.

Favello said Makalusky sits on his rear porch and watches the girl and her friends swim in a pool.

The girl is about the same age as children explicitly exposed in 230 images recovered by investigators from Makalusky’s computer in November 2008, Favello said.
