Dorothy M. Darby, 91, of Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday evening, September 20, 2007, at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, on January 27, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothea (Sandt) Steinhauer.
She was educated in GAR Memorial High School and was a member of Albright United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Job T. Darby, who died January 24, 1969; her son Robert J. Darby; grandson David; sister Helen Derhammer.
She is survived by her daughters Dorothy M. Davis, of Wilkes-Barre, and JoAnn L. Meier, of Mountain Top; grandchildren Job, Lisa, Leo, Amy, Jeffrey, Donna, Dorothy and Job; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Patrice H. Goodwin, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
