Elizabeth A. Sahd, 85, formerly of Columbia, Pa., died on Thursday at St. Anne’s Retirement Community where she had been residing for the past four years.
She was the wife of the late Charles Sahd, who preceded her in death in 1973. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Elias. Elizabeth was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, Legion of Mary and the Mother’s Club.
She was very active in many of the church’s functions.
She was preceded in death by six siblings.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas and his wife, Marianne Sahd of Lancaster, and Michael and his wife, Lonnie Sahd of Columbia; a daughter, Mary and her husband, Michael Kane of Washington Boro, Pa.; grandchildren, Nicholaus and his wife, Lyndell Sahd, Mandee and her husband, Joseph Havrilla, Patrick Sahd, Josh Kane, Michael C. Sahd and Lisa Kane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2nd and Union St, Columbia, Pa., on Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev Fr. Dominic DiBiccaro as Celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
The family request that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2nd & Union Sts, Columbia, PA 17512, or to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr. P.O.
