WEST PITTSTON – Police are looking for two male suspects involved in a strong-arm robbery at the entrance to the Water Street Bridge at Susquehanna Avenue just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.
A female victim told police one of the suspects held what appeared to be a handgun and asked her for money, according to West Pittston police Officer Michael Turner.
The suspects – both described in their early 20s – fled with $30 cash, a set of gold earrings and necklace with two charms attached, Turner said. One of the charms was a gold cross and the other was a gold heart with a cross in the middle of it.
The victim described the first suspect as a white male between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall, short light brown hair, clean shaved and heavy set, Turner said. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a black logo printed on the front.
The second male is described as black, approximately the same height as the other suspect, dark short hair, medium build and wearing a denim jean jacket and jeans, Turner said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to contact West Pittston police at 655-7780 ext. 229 or by calling 911.
