Woman hid syringes, Kingston cops say

Jennifer Ann Warman is also accused of giving a wrong name in a Larksville incident.

KINGSTON – Police arrested a woman on charges she attempted to hide syringes from officers who were investigating a heroin overdose.

Jennifer Ann Warman, 29, of Market Street, Kingston, told police Justin Barrick passed out after injecting two packets of heroin in her apartment on Friday. Warman dragged Barrick to a bathtub and failed to wake him with water, according to the criminal complaint.

Warman admitted to police, the criminal complaint says, that she hid six syringes in a closet before she called 911 for an ambulance. Barrick woke up after being treated by paramedics, police said.

Warman was charged with tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was wanted by Larksville police on charges she provided police with her sister’s name during a traffic stop in September.

She was arraigned by District Judge Fred Pierantoni in Pittston and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.

In an unrelated case, Warman was released from the county prison on Nov. 2 when a judge reinstated bail on drug charges.

Warman was captured in October on an arrest warrant charging her with failing to appear in court on Oct. 7, according to court records.

According to the criminal complaint:

Warman told police that she and Barrick bought four heroin packets from a person in Wilkes-Barre on Friday. They returned to her apartment where she snorted the heroin and Barrick injected it.

Barrick passed out shortly after injecting the heroin, Warman told police. She said she dragged Barrick to a bathtub and poured water on him to wake him up.

She hid six syringes in a purse that she placed in a closet before she called 911, the criminal complaint says. Police said they found other contraband under a mattress in a bedroom.

Larksville police charged Warman with identifying herself using a sister’s name when she was stopped for speeding on East State Street on Sept. 1.

Warman was sentenced on Sept. 3 to 18 months probation on charges she stole jewelry from a Nuangola house in March and sold the items at a pawn shop in Wilkes-Barre, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Nov. 19 before District Judge David Barilla in Swoyersville on the charges filed by Larksville police.

A preliminary hearing is set for5 Nov. 25 before District Judge Paul Roberts in Kingston on the charges filed by Kingston police.
