The results of a mental health evaluation are expected later this winter for a man accused of killing a 21-year-old Wesleyan University student in a bookstore cafe.
Stephen P. Morgan was in Middletown Superior Court on Tuesday, and his case was continued to March 2.
The former Marblehead, Mass., man is charged with murder and other offenses in the shooting death last year of acquaintance Johanna Justin-Jinich of Timnath, Colo.
Morgan's attorneys are awaiting his mental health evaluation to determine whether they will claim insanity as part of his not guilty plea.
Morgan did not speak during Tuesday's court appearance. Several members of Morgan's family attended the hearing. They declined comment through his attorney.
