(AP) Rap reggae performer Prince Jazzbo has died in his homeland of Jamaica. He was 62.

Daughter Princess Omega Carter said Thursday that her father died at his house in St. Catherine parish after a long fight with lung cancer.

Born Linval Carter, Jazzbo started his career in the early 1970s at producer Clement "Sir Coxsone" Dodd's Studio One.

One of his best known tracks was "Croaking Lizard," produced by dub legend Lee "Scratch" Perry. He was also known for "Crab Walking" and "Penny Reel."

He had a lyrical feud with fellow reggae rapper I-Roy. The two deejays sparred with each other during a 1970s musical clash, with Jazzbo releasing taunting tracks like "Gal Boy I-Roy."

He is survived by three daughters and two sons.
