(AP) Frank Kimmel won the weather-shorted ARCA series finale at Kansas Speedway on Friday night, putting an exclamation point on a championship he secured earlier in the day.

Kimmel secured his 10th title simply by turning a practice lap earlier in the day, which gave him enough points to clear Mason Mingus and Justin Boston no matter what he did in the race.

Turned out that Kimmel wanted to make history: The victory gave him 80 in his ARCA career, breaking a tie with Iggy Katona for the most in series history.

Mason Mitchell finished second, John Wes Townnley was third, pole-sitter Dylan Kwasniewski making his first ARCA start was fourth and Boston finished fifth.
