(AP) Tyler Seguin scored four goals and Jamie Benn had a career-high six points to lead the Dallas Stars over the slumping Calgary Flames 7-3 on Thursday night.
Benn had a goal and five assists. Stephane Robidas and Ryan Garbutt also scored for the Stars, who have won five of six and reeled off five straight road victories. Alex Goligoski had three assists.
Dallas scored four consecutive goals in the second period to hand the Flames their fifth loss in a row.
The top Stars line of Seguin, Benn and rookie Valeri Nichushkin was too quick, too skilled and too elusive for the Flames, who were a step behind all night and could not contain them.
Matt Stajan had two goals and David Jones also scored for Calgary.
Seguin began the second-period outburst at 1:19. Benn got the puck to the front of the net where Flames goalie Reto Berra stopped Seguin on the first shot, but with the puck lying at his feet for an uncontested second try Seguin easily fired the puck over the prone goaltender.
The same combination struck again at 4:25. TJ Galiardi's no-look backhand pass was intercepted at center ice by Goligoski. He zipped a pass to Seguin, who in turn neatly set up Benn at the side of the net.
Only 4 minutes later, another dandy passing sequence between the two, finished off by Seguin, made it 4-0 and ended the night for Berra, who was replaced by Karri Ramo.
Calgary cut it to 6-3 in the third period before Seguin scored his team-leading 12th of the season on a power play at 16:21 for the first four-goal game of his career.
When the Flames and Stars met three weeks ago, Dallas was last in the West, four points behind the Flames. Since that night when Dallas won 5-1, Calgary has gone 2-7-1 while the Stars have gone 7-2-2.
Just 30 seconds into the third period, Seguin scored his third goal of the night to make it 6-1.
An aggressive forecheck from Benn knocked the puck away from Chris Butler. Nichushkin got the puck and eventually wheeled out of the corner and sent a shot on goal that Ramo stopped, but the rebound deflected right to Seguin.
Calgary got a power-play goal from Jones and a short-handed goal from Stajan later in the third, but the game had well been decided by that point.
With 13 saves on 17 shots, Berra took the loss to fall to 1-3-1. Ramo had 12 stops on 15 shots.
Kari Lehtonen, starting his 11th game in a row and on consecutive nights after shutting out the Edmonton Oilers 3-0, made 25 saves in improving to 9-3-2.
