(AP) Tiger Woods was doing his best to get back into the mix at the Tour Championship. The last five holes Friday changed everything.
Woods made a double bogey and a triple bogey down the stretch and wound up with another round over par, a 1-over 71 that kept him at the bottom of the pack.
Woods was 5 under for his round through 13 holes and four shots behind Henrik Stenson, who had yet to tee off. But his tee shot settled amid the Georgia pines left of the 14th fairway, leading to double bogey. And he hit into the water on the 17th and made triple bogey.
It was the first time since the 2011 PGA Championship that Woods began a PGA Tour event with back-to-back rounds over par.
