(AP) Fourth-seeded David Ferrer quickly closed out his match after dropping a set to reach the third round at the U.S. Open.

The Spaniard beat countryman Roberto Bautista Agut 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday. The second set took an hour, then Ferrer needed just 66 minutes to win the last two.

The French Open runner-up has reached at least the quarterfinals at seven straight major tournaments.
