Crow tests positive
    for W. Nile virus

The Wilkes-Barre Health Department was notified that another crow found
dead in the city tested positive for the West Nile Virus, Mayor Tom McGroarty
said on Friday.

The bird was found at Hollenback Golf Club on Aug. 28.

McGroarty said the state Department of Health announced that bird testing
is no longer needed in 29 counties, including Luzerne County. He said the city
Health Department will continue to respond to resident complaints about dead
birds, and will collect and dispose of dead birds.
