Brilee Bryan, a dance student at the Whipple Performing Arts Studio in Tunkhannock, asked her parents if they would help sponsor a fundraiser for the new Starlite Playhouse that is being planned for construction. Robert and Heidi Bryan, co-owners of the newly formed United Flowback Service, LLC, a company that services the gas industry in the Marcellus Shale Region, readily agreed and so plans were made to organize a “Raise the Roof” Family Fun Day.
The event will take place this Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays in Springville. A $10 entrance fee goes directly to the Starlite Playhouse Building Fund. Children can enjoy a Bounce House, graciously donated by Taylor Rental, face painting, puppet show, sporting clay shoot (snowballs for kids), cotton candy, raffles, breakdance and hip hop performances and DJ entertainment. A picnic lunch will also be served for $6 per person and will include 2 chicken thighs, beans, chips, bread and a drink.
Other sponsors include Rock Mountain Sporting Clays and donations by Ma Greenley’s BBQ and Ebbs Candy Jar.
The Starlite Playhouse will be a state of the art performing arts center located next to the Whipple Performing Arts Studio in Tunkhannock. Plans for the 400 plus seat theater were drawn up by Joseph Rominski Architecture of Scranton and Tunkhannock.
