Pittston – “Our Town Dunmore”, the 13th edition of WVIA’s “Our Town” documentary series premieres Tuesday, June 4 at 8 p.m. on WVIA TV.
In the late 1700’s William Allsworth settled in an area of Lackawanna County brimming with beauty and bounty. He thought it to be an ideal spot where tired emigrants could stop, eat, and feel welcomed. Today, that same spirit of warmth and hospitality exists in Dunmore, where family traditions are celebrated to the hilt, where Bucks rule the football field, and a balance of faith and gusto is the secret to life.
From the Patch to Bunker Hill, Drinker Street and beyond, meet the people of Dunmore and feel right at home as WVIA presents “Our Town Dunmore,” produced in partnership with The Times-Tribune in Scranton.
As northeastern Pennsylvania’s and the central Susquehanna valley’s public television station serving a very large geographic area, the “Our Town” project was initiated in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WVIA. The “Our Town” documentary series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.
WVIA TV will rebroadcast “Our Town: Dunmore” Tuesday, June 4 at 10 p.m. immediately following its premiere, Saturday, July 6 at 9 p.m. and Sunday, July 7 at 12 p.m.
