Holes in one reported
Two area golfers recently record holes in one.
• Tom Skaff had a hole in one at the Applewood Golf Course.
He aced the par-3, 138-yard 14th hole. The shot was witnessed by Deanne Musgrove.
• Larry Gurnari scored a hole in one on the 180-yard seventh hole at Irem Temple Country Club.
He was playing with Joe Marut, Joe Sabol and Jamie Pearce.

Little League set to honor VP Biden
Vice President Joe Biden can add a new honor to his resume: membership in the Little League Museum Hall of Excellence.
Little League officials said Tuesday that Biden will be enshrined during this year’s World Series, though they do not know whether he plans to attend the Aug. 30 ceremony at the close of the 10-day tournament.
The vice president grew up in Scranton — where he played in the Green Ridge Little League — about 100 miles east of Little League’s South Williamsport headquarters.
New York Rangers center Chris Drury will also be enshrined this year into the Little League hall. Drury was the winning pitcher in the title game for the Trumbull, Conn., team that took the 1989 World Series title.
The Little League World Series begins Friday.

Motion filed to dismiss Roethlisberger suit
RENO, Nev. — A former Harrah’s employee has filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit that accuses Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of raping another worker.
Stacy Dingman is the former director of hotels at Harrah’s and one of nine defendants named in the lawsuit filed last month in Washoe County District Court. The suit also accuses managers of the hotel-casino at Lake Tahoe of covering up the alleged sex assault.
She also said she is the former best friend of the woman who claims Roethlisberger raped her at the hotel-casino during an annual celebrity golf tournament in July 2008.
Dingman said in her motion that the lawsuit is baseless and that she has been dragged into it without justification.
