Charlie’s Pub and Eatery, 821 Northern Blvd., Clarks Summit, has been described to owner Ed Mozdziock as the best kept secret in Clarks Summit, but he’s hoping after this Sunday the secret will be out.

The restaurant, which Mozdziock owns with his wife, Paula, will be participating in the Rotary of the Abingtons Taste of the Abingtons Sunday, Sept. 19.

After opening its doors in December 2009, this will be the first year Charlie’s Pub and Eatery will be able to participate in the event, and Mozdziock said he is excited.

“First off, it’s a good cause, and secondly, it’s an opportunity for more people in the Abingtons to get a taste of our food.”

Charlie’s will be serving a stuffed chicken breast with mashed potatoes and pesto cream sauce at the event, prepared by the restaurant’s Head Chef Dustin Hoffman.

“The way that Dustin prepares this dish is really unique, and we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from customers on it,” said Mozdziock. “It’s probably one of our most purchased dishes.”

In addition to the stuffed chicken breast, Charlie’s menu offers variety, including burgers, steaks and seafood dishes, such as cod and salmon.

“We try to have something on our menu that will meet just about everyone’s taste buds, from salads and burgers all the way to filet mignon,” said Mozdziock. “We’ve got a big menu and we’re always introducing new features.”
