Pennsylvania’s PACE law
Pennsylvania’s prescription drug program for the elderly requires drug
producers to pay higher rebates and encourages senior citizens to use more
generic drugsThe Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly (PACE) law
mandates rebates of 15 percent on brand name drugs and 11 percent on generic
drugs to help protect about 350,000 older Pennsylvanians from high drug costs.
Senior citizens participating in PACE, funded by the state lottery, must
meet certain income qualifications before benefiting from the reduced prices.
